How to make a classic whisky twist
Isn’t it funny how ‘casual’ and ‘low-key’ tend to lose meaning around Christmas time? Because spirits are high or because feet are restless, you never know when a cozy get-together will turn into a full blown party. That’s when the Whiskey Twist comes as a perfect fit to the festive mood, tastefully balancing between bitter and sweet.
Significantly stronger than the usual Christmas drinks and with a matured palette of aromas, this mix of flavored bitter, whiskey and sugar is reserved for the later hours, when everyone’s energy levels need a refresh.
- 4 cl Whiskey
- 2 cl Freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 cl Sugar syrup (can be purchased or prepared with equal parts of water and sugar boiled together and stored in a glass bottle)
- One dash of aromatic bitter
Mix all the ingredients with the exception of Cava and bitter and stir well. Serve in a champagne flute, top with Cava according to taste and finish off with a dash of bitter.
