BJARNE – SALES RESPONSIBLE

What did you wear to your first interview?

My first serious interview was right here, with Bestseller, and I wore a light blue Collect shirt from Selected, anti-fit, sand colored Levi’s chino pants and my black Converse Chucks.

Any interview outfit regrets?

Now, when looking back, the baggy, sand colored Levi’s I wore might not have been the best choice after all.

What would you wear if you were interviewing today?

A blazer with some subtle personality, a classic white shirt, tailored pants, and what so many men forget about — a pair of great leather shoes.

Interview do’s and don’ts?

Do: Be polite.

Don’t: Go in unprepared.

Do: Have a firm handshake.

Comfort vs. looks?

Looks, definitely.

When in doubt…

…wear a tie or a blazer. You will always look sharper when inserting a bit of tailoring into your look. But I’m also a bit old school.

What did you wear to your first interview?

For my first serious interview, I wore a black slim fit, single pocket blazer, white formal slim fit shirt, slim black tie, black slim fit jeans and black boots.

What would you wear if you were interviewing today?

Something classic, but also something that shows some personality. I like mixing neutrals right now, while inserting a trend color, such as forest green. I think it says reliable, yet thinks outside the box. 181016-blog-interview0231

Interview do’s and don’ts?

…DON´T panic, and ask if you did not understand what they meant by their question.

Comfort vs. looks?

100% looks, comfort is not important for an interview

When in doubt…

…be confident in yourself and well prepared for the interview.181016-blog-interview0244

FREDERIK – HOMME STYLIST

What did you wear to your first interview?

For my first interview, I wore a casual suit and a T shirt underneath. I wanted to look nice, but not like I was trying too much … I wanted to come across as serious, but with an edge.

Any interview outfit regrets?

I once wore a brand new shirt to an interview. This meant that I could not breathe through the material, i.e. #sweatstains.

What would you wear if you were interviewing today?

These days, I would go for something classic with a “less is more” approach. I’m not sure that it goes in one’s favor to wear something distracting during an interview. Black jeans with a black knit — in a really nice quality — paired with classic black Chelsea boots. I’d top it off with suede in another neutral color to add a little sumthin’, sumthin’. emptyname-17-copy-copy

Interview do’s and don’ts?

Always give a strong and firm handshake, look up and don’t shy away from making eye contact. Do not be too cocky, just be yourself, there’s nothing cooler than that. Show what you are capable of, but within realistic limits.

Comfort vs. looks?

It is important that you create the right impression through your attire, but in order to be comfortable in the conversation, then you need to feel comfortable in your clothes.

When in doubt…

…always remember to insert at least a little bit of your into your interview outfit.emptyname-37
