THE COLLAR

The collar of the jacket should sit nicely on the shoulders and not buckle, move away from, or conceal your shirt collar. One half-inch of your shirt collar should be visible from the back._66B4809

THE SLEEVE LENGTH

A quarter to a half-inch of your shirt should always be visible and the sleeve should rest a half-inch below your wrist bone._66B4825

THE CHEST

Your flat hand should slip easily into your suit under the lapel when the top button is fastened. If you place your fist inside, the suit should pull at the button._66B4931

THE JACKET WAIST

The blazer should lay nicely against the waist and there shouldn’t be any ripples from the single fastened button. If there is, purchase a larger size.

THE JACKET LENGTH

At SELECTED, we prefer a jacket that is slightly shorter, which allows for a modern and contemporary silhouette._66B4949

THE TROUSER BOTTOM

The length of the trouser is a matter of personal taste and fashion. But for a classic fit, only a little bit of the fabric should drape over your shoes. The hem of your trousers should cover the laces of your shoes and slope slightly downwards towards the heel. Opt for the more contemporary option with a pair of cropped-fit trousers._66B4916_66B4876

THE SHOULDER

Look for higher fitted armholes and narrow sleeves. You’ll know it fits properly when there’s no overhang of fabric on the shoulder or on the contrary, when the shoulder bulges out under the the seam of the sleeve. A smooth curved line should fall from the head of the sleeve to the cuff._66B4847
